Getting started

Install Zenith, add a model key, connect a Zoho Creator app and plan your first feature.

Zenith is a desktop app for building Zoho Creator features with an AI agent. It keeps a mirror of your app on your Mac, plans changes with you, writes and lints the Deluge, ships it to Creator with a snapshot, and re-pulls the app to prove it landed.

Zenith is in early access. These docs describe the current early-access build and grow with it.

1. Install

Get Zenith from the download page (during early access we email you a build), open the disk image and drag Zenith to Applications. You need a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later.

Early-access builds are not yet notarized by Apple, so macOS blocks the first launch. Open Zenith once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway next to the message about Zenith. On macOS 13 and 14 you can instead Control-click Zenith in Applications and choose Open.

2. Add a model key

Zenith uses your own Anthropic or OpenAI key. Paste it on the Add an AI key step; Zenith verifies it and encrypts it with your macOS Keychain. Only the last four characters are ever shown again.

You can skip this step: the built-in demo app runs on a scripted model and needs no key. See Models and keys.

3. License

Choose one:

  • I have a Zenith key: paste the license key you received from Lemon Squeezy. Keys from the Chrome extension work too.
  • Start trial: unlocks Build and Ship for the trial period.
  • Continue free: Ask and Plan modes, the mirror, App Explorer and search, and the demo app.

4. Connect Zoho

Pick how Zenith reaches your app. Connecting your Creator app explains each option.

  • Sign in to Zoho inside Zenith, after choosing your data center.
  • Continue with Chrome to use the session from your browser, through the paired extension.
  • Import a .ds file for a read-only workspace with no sign-in.
  • Try the demo app to explore with Acme Ops, a sample operations app.

Nothing is written to Zoho during setup.

5. Pick your app and sync

Open your app in the Creator tab (or paste its URL) and confirm the app Zenith detected: name, owner, link name and data center. The first sync downloads the app’s export and builds the mirror on your Mac: every function, form, field, report, page and workflow, with who calls what. You can keep working while it indexes.

6. Plan your first feature

From Home, describe what you want in Plan mode, for example:

Customers can request a refund on a delivered order. Requests up to $500 are
approved automatically; larger ones wait for a manager.

Zenith explores the app, asks the questions it needs answered, and writes a plan with requirements and the components it will touch. Approve the plan and switch to Build to have it written. Then ship and verify.
